Finally got around to listening to this and it was great to hear as a western herbalist. Was a bit surprised that ivermectin wasn’t mentioned as an effective biomedical. Simply as an observation there are many case studies confirming this. Also why are you using the word theory? Many of the ways of understanding how disease work in the body from the TCM perspective are surely based on practice? Far longer than any western medical modern practice. And also such good confirmation that it truly is a long term disease of the blood, something that became apparent to western herbalists as well, from the onset, with the wide array of symptoms depending on individual constitution. I have used red sage to help support blood metabolism as well as one of our best blood workers in the pnw, western red alder bark tincture.

I love hearing about the western herbs you’ve been using. And so interesting that western herbalists also identify long covid as a blood level disease. There is so much wisdom from our plant friends. We tried to keep our discussion focused on the TCM perspective, hence the exclusion of ivermectin or other biomedicals. And the use of “theory” is likely a product of habit - many TCM practitioners use that word when we’re really talking about our worldview, our perspective on the body and nature, and the wisdom of the generations before us. “Theory” is a bit of a semantic shortcut, and I should practice using more accurate words!

thanks for the explanation, I think I am overly sensitive as I still meet people who feel that acupuncture is a hoax, and non scientific. As for Ivermectin, I wouldn't have mentioned it but paxlovid was mentioned. But I get it. I am also very thankful the show is about successful acupuncture and not about the short comings of pharmaceuticals! Thanks for all you do.
