Discussion thread! What do you feel during acupuncture?

I love hearing people’s questions about acupuncture and healing, and every now and then I like to turn the tables and ask YOU a question.
So here’s today’s question…
Do you ever experience physical sensations during an acupuncture treatment? What do you feel?
During one of my first-ever acupuncture treatments, I felt like my body was levitating off the table, and slowly spinning, like I was on a record turntable. I had never experienced anything like it, and it felt amazing. I’ve had a LOT of acupuncture since then, and I’m forever chasing that float-ey, spin-ey feeling during a treatment. It doesn’t happen every time, but when it does, I relish the sensation!
So what do YOU feel during acupuncture? Post your reply in the comments!
Years ago in Los Angeles I had a severe pain in my left hand. I went to an acupuncturist for a treatment. I noticed a "ring of light" spinning around my hand. It was bright fluorescent red, spinning fast. Then with my mind, I began to slow the spinning light from bright red to a soft blue and green. The more the light changed to blue, the pain went away and the light was spinning slower and slower. I increased the speed of the color back to orange, yellow and red the pain increased. I could slow the spinning and the color would turn to blue and no pain, or speed the spinning up, change the color to red and more pain. I could control it myself. When the treatment was over, I didn't have any pain in my hand and I walked out of the office feeling really spacey.
It’s different every time, though mostly I feel deeply relaxed. I relax with acupuncture more than anything else I’ve ever tried. When I we being treated for sciatica it was a little different, I didn’t feel that sense of relaxation though so like I said, it depends. It can be interesting to suddenly notice energy or sensations on various places, often moves and shifts during the session. And sometimes I feel like there a needle where there isn’t one! I almost never feel the actual needles after the first minute.
