Dear Patient,
Do you set reminders for yourself? Maybe on your phone or tablet, maybe in a planner, or on a calendar—they’re a good way to keep track of obligations, but the problem is they seldom elicit happiness. They remind us about all the stuff we might rather forget: appointments we’re dreading, tasks we’ve been putting off, to-do list items that we know deep down will never get done.
So maybe try setting a different kind of reminder. A reminder that makes you smile instead of filling you with dread. A message that lifts you up instead of stressing you out.
What’s a reminder you’d like to receive at some moment in the future? Type it out, write it down, then set it and forget it. I just bought my journal for 2022, and I plan on sticking these reminders on a few random pages. Maybe they'll pop up right when my future self needs them.
Love and gratitude,
Your Acupuncturist
This is wonderful! Changes/shifts in perspective come with practice, so this makes so much sense. It's funny how making one small change can lead a ripple effect of massive changes in the end. Grateful for those small steps in the big picture!
