Worse
Dear Patient,
Things often get worse before they get better. Sometimes this is called a “healing crisis,” but it’s not really a crisis at all—it’s a sign that you’re on the right track.
This happens especially in the early stages of treatment, or when you’re trying something new. It happens with physical therapy and psychotherapy and chiropractic care and new habits. The body resists change, even good change. When long-stagnant energy starts flowing again, it might do so in fits and starts, sputtering along for a while. Healing isn’t always pretty.
The same can be true for any system undergoing an evolution to a more balanced, harmonious state: families, relationships, schools and workplaces. Sometimes things get worse before they get better. It’s a good sign. Keep going.
Love and gratitude,
Your Acupuncturist
